Vintage toy auction, Aug. 8th , 2009 (#82):

General description:

The catalog information (in Danish) has been uploaded to this site. I have translated selected items and parts of the catalog information into English.

The auction has items in the following categories:

Model trains: Marklin H0 and more. I usually do not translate the trains part of the catalog.

Soldiers and figures: Usually a number of old  Lineol and Elastolin figures.

Dolls and var. old toys: Dolls, mixed boxes and more.

Collector’s items: Includes automobilia such as press photos of cars, old car brochures, and many other things.

Model cars: Always a number of Tekno cars, Corgi & Dinky, tractors, Lego cars, tin cars, mixed boxes and more. I have translated the whole of this section.

An auction with around 500 lots of old toys and collectors items.

Catalog info is now available at:

I have taken more than 270 pictures and also uploaded them in the above directory. My comments and observations have been added to the catalog listing.

Tuesday, Aug. 4th: Bid submission deadline. Please ensure that I have your bids by this date.

Where to find the catalog listing:

The catalog listing is located at the bottom of the list found at the above link. The file name begins with “auckat”, and it is available in Microsoft Excel, and pdf formats. Both of these 2 files have the same info in them.

Contents of the catalog listing:

Please ignore the Excel line numbers on the extreme left, and refer to the “Lot#” column only.

The “/English transla. [my comm in sqr brckts]” column has my English translation of the original lot description in Danish. Please note: After I have had a chance to inspect the lots myself, I will sometimes add more information in [square brackets]. This information can sometimes be important. It may include my own, independent assessment of the state, a note of any obvious damage or defects, and sometimes even if a wind-up item works or not (electrical items are not tested). For this reason, PLEASE make sure that you have the latest available version of the catalog file and be sure to read any such notes before submitting your bids. The date and time of the document version appears at the very top of the document. Before opening the document, or looking at the list of pictures, make sure to hit the “F5” key on your keyboard. This ensures that you are seeing the latest available version of the website.

The “State” column gives the auction house estimate of the state of preservation. I find these to be fairly accurate, but of course there is always an element of individual judgement in these matters.

The “DKK” column gives the auction house estimate of the expected knock down price in Danish Kroner. This does NOT include the fixed auction house commission of 25%.

The “$ est.” column is the auction house estimate of the expected knock down price in US$, but INCLUDING the auction house commission, for your convenience. A fair exchange rate is used for the calculation.

The ”Pic#” column lists any pictures that may be available. The picture number is normally the same as the lot number. Sometimes I take several pictures of the same lot. These are then designated by lover case letters (a,b,c, etc.) after the picture number. Usually the “a” picture is a general overview of the entire lot. Please note that sometimes the auction house will insert extra lots. Such lots are designated with a dash and a CAPITAL LETTER after the lot number such as for example “717-A”.
